WE OFFER VARIOUS TYPES OF VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Did you know that millions of Canadians volunteer their time to support local charities? We live in such a great country, and volunteer work is crucial not just for Canada, but for each local community like ours. TBB is no different, and we offer several volunteer positions to suit different volunteers’ interests.
Important Note: All volunteer positions require a Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector. Please click here for instructions on how to apply online or in-person through the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING
Are you a great listener and communicator? Do you want to make a difference in the community one student at a time? As a volunteer tutor, you have an extremely flexible schedule; you can pick when and where to tutor, as long as it’s in a public location. If you have a passion for teaching and would like to tutor students on a weekly basis, then you may want to consider joining our tutoring team.
As representatives of TBB, you are required to purchase our TBB Uniform Package for $20, which includes a cool T-shirt uniform and lanyard for you to keep forever. If you provide us with an original copy of your Police Records Check, you only need to pay $10.
Minimum Time Commitment: 1 h/wk for > 6 months
Eligibility: Must be a college/university student or graduate with good academic standing in relevant subject area(s); fluent in English
EVENTS & FUNDRAISING
Are you someone who’s interested in helping out at events and fundraisers whenever they are available? If you are a team player or have a fundraising idea of your own, we’d love to hear from you and have you join our team!

ACADEMIC PLACEMENTS
Tutoring Beyond Borders offers unpaid academic or co-op placements for those who are interested. We are more than happy to work with local colleges and universities to provide on-the-job experience with operations, HR, and marketing.
Minimum Time Commitment:
1 academic term (4 months)
MANAGEMENT
Are you a leader that is interested in joining one of our departments? We are regularly on the lookout for exceptional individuals to help with marketing, recruitment, fundraising, donation/sponsorship procurement and more!
Minimum Time Commitment:
2 h/wk for >1 year
